I would like to take this opportunity to thank Janet Skotko for her warmth and invaluable support with the SpeechEasy device. One of my friends had seen the segment on “Oprah” about the device and brought it to our attention. At first I dismissed it as another crackpot “cure” for stuttering. I am 60 years old, and have gone through all types of speech therapy since I was a child. From weekly sessions, to intensive 3-weeks’ effort of slow speech. None worked.

However, I decided to investigate it, if only to lay this great miracle myth to rest for my family. I really didn’t believe that it worked. At our first evaluation visit, I sat with Janet, gave her my history, etc., and she was extremely generous with her time and knowledge. She put the device in my ear and suddenly I was speaking fluently. I am classified as a severe stutterer, and this choral speech approach really works!

I have had it since April 1, and there has been a vast improvement. People are amazed. Not only has my stuttering gone down (I think I have stuttered about six times since then), but I am more fluent. When I do come to a word that I think that I will stutter on, I continue and there is no stutter. It is amazing!!!!!

I wholeheartedly recommend this SpeechEasy device to anyone who stutters. Furthermore, I think that Janet Skotko deserves my new name for her as my Speech Angel. She is incredibly caring, and does a great follow-up as well. She is not only a speech therapist, but my friend.
